Turnout
Large field and lots of socializing. Our horses are happy in herds. We have one large field not with seperate T/O for injured or show horses who can't risk the battle scars of being in a herd but we are planning on putting up quite a few more fields/paddocks this summer.
Round Pen
With a 90' round pen its very safe to work with unruley or green horses with plenty of room but still properly enclosed. It is big enough to ride in, perfect size to lunge in and also great for introducing new horses to the field it is within. This picture also shows the large racetrack we have here at WBS.
Race Track
We have a rather large race track, something one of a kind in CT. This track measures 1/2 mile and we intend on making it a tad bigger. It is deep enough to work horses in but the footing is absolutely perfect being soft, fluffy sand and theres a feeling of safety with the width being huge (around 30' wide). We also have an indoor racetrack but it is much smaller being 1/10th of a mile but it is big enough to walk, trot, canter and gallop!
Re-building The Stalls
The stalls have been abused for over 30 years so re-building the barn is very hard work and costly. Its a slow process but is on its way and any improvement is better than no improvement! About 20 ton of gravel goes into 2 stalls to bring them up to the level they used to be at when the barn was in decent shape. Our helpers and us first have to dig out 24"-30" worth of 30 year old dirty shavings that have built up. Its very tiring work but well worth it when we have brand new stalls with rubber mats!

Riding Ring
We took three rickety paddocks with rotten, chewed and falling down fence...ripped them down...dragged the wood out and after a lot of excavation we have a flat area. Matt is currently fencing it in and building jumps on the perimeter which will some day add to the x-country course. Dressage letters will be up shortly too so we can get some real work done! More pics to come soon. Below are pics of current progress.
